Award in Education and Training gives you the confidence and the skills to teach others about your specialism whether it is giving training to new starters or as part of a mentorship / apprenticeship program. AET can also help you in coaching with clients on a one to one basis. This could be to help the client understand more fully what you are about or as part of a therapy you are involved in.
The qualification is over eight weeks and is built as an online course.

- How to write a session plan
- Giving and receiving feedback
- The Teaching cycle
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to teach adults really. Whether you are already training or are thinking of have a career change then the course is for you. The course is not just about people who deliver qualifications it is also to help people who teach skills to others like knitting or Jewellery making or people that deliver in house courses to staff.
To apply for the course you have to be 19+ and have a good level of ICT, Numeracy and Literacy. These are not tested at the start of the course but you do complete a test for your benefit so you can see what level you are working at.
*Who can apply for funding?
To fit the criteria you need to
- Work in a small company less than 50 employees
- Work for a charity but not as a volunteer
- Be self employed and pay class 2 or 4 NI
- Have a turnover of less than 34 million a year
- Based in the Yorkshire or Humber region
